Training Programme: In Alignment with SAQA US 119567 – Conduct moderation of outcomes-based assessments

 

Duration: two (2) Days

 

Introduction:

The OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT 1993 (Act No 85 of 1993) stipulates that where more than 10 employed at any workplace, at least 1 employee should be competent in Basic First Aid procedures.

To meet this end, Flomotion delivers a SAQA aligned training programme as per Unit Standard:119567, accredited by the Department of Labour.

The Lecturer of this intervention is an active paramedic with years of field experience.

 

Training Methodology:

The theoretical and practical element of the training is successfully concluded in class. Candidates who are found competent on this unit standard should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of emergency scene management,
  • Demonstrate and understanding of elementary anatomy physiology,
  • Assess an emergency situation,
  • Apply First Aid procedures to a life-threatening situation including CPR,
  • Treat common injuries.

 

Who should attend:

All personnel identified as First Aid Attendants in the workplace as well as any person wishing to learn basic First Aid Procedures.

Training Programme: In alignment with SAQA US 120496 – Provide risk-based primary
emergency care/first aid in the workplace

 

Duration: one (1) day

 

Introduction:

The OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT 1993 (Act No 85 of 1993) stipulates that where more than 10 employed at any workplace, at least 1 employee should be competent in Basic First Aid procedures.

This programme will enable employees to provide first aid in response to a health emergency in their specific workplaces. The lecturer of this intervention is an active paramedic with years of field experience.

 

Training Methodology:

The theoretical and practical elements of the training are successfully concluded in class. Candidates who are found competent should be able to:

  • Demonstrate the principles of primary emergency care
  • Assess and control a single injury workplace emergency scene
  • Demonstrate first aid for adults, children and infants
  • Explain and manage shock
  • Carry out a secondary assessment of the sick or injured person and provide appropriate first aid at the scene
  • Keep records of the incident

 

Who should attend:

All personnel appointed as First Aid Attendants in the workplace as well as anyone wishing to learn first aid.

Training Programme: In alignment with SAQA US 376480 – Provide first aid as an
advanced first responder

 

Duration: one (1) day

 

Introduction:

The OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT 1993 (Act No 85 of 1993) stipulates that where more than 10 employed at any workplace, at least 1 employee should be competent in Basic First Aid procedures.

This unit standard is to enable first responders to react to emergencies at an advanced first aid level, until the arrival of more professional emergency personnel. The lecturer of this intervention is a active paramedic with years of field experience.

 

Training Methodology:

The theoretical and practical elements of the training are successfully concluded in class. Candidates who are found competent should be capable of:

  • Explaining the principles of advanced first aid
  • Demonstrating an advanced level of preparedness to deal with sudden illness or emergency
  • Assessing and managing an emergency scene/disaster
  • Describing the anatomy and physiology of the human body in terms of injury or sudden illness.
  • Applying primary first aid
  • Explaining and managing shock.

 

Who should attend:

All first responders as well as any person wishing to learn Advanced First Aid Procedures.
